The citizens of the Global South
need more from democracies
and their local governments.
We are at a key moment marked by institutional distrust and remoteness, internal and cross-border conflicts that go beyond the capacities of the central government and an imperative need to strengthen advocacy, dialogue and the construction of solutions in an intersectoral manner that is linked, in turn, with the territories.
This is why CILA seeks to promote innovative forms of governance and collective action in cities of the Global South that are reflected in the strengthening of participation and co-construction in decision-making processes and community building to promote actions that aim to achieve effective equality between people.
CILA seeks to promote:

Innovation

Collaboration
