What does it mean to inhabit the city? Are these conglomerates really synonymous with progress and development? How can we reimagine our lives in cities? If you are in Buenos Aires, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to participate in an exhibition that asks these questions.
“Cities of Dreams and Dystopia,” currently on display at the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK) in Buenos Aires, presents a series of works that address the city as an imaginary space, and how it has been shaped through art and literature throughout history.
Since ancient times, the city has been a source of inspiration for writers, poets and artists from all over the world. In this exhibition, you can immerse yourself in a universe of fantastic, utopian and dystopian cities created by some of the world’s leading artists and writers.
Among the works on display, you will find paintings, photographs, drawings, sculptures, installations and objects that will take you to imaginary places and invite you to reflect on the role that cities play in our imagination and in our society.
The exhibition will be open until April 30, so don’t miss the opportunity to visit it and enjoy this unique experience at the CCK. Admission is free, but advance reservations are required due to capacity restrictions due to the pandemic. You can book your ticket on the CCK website.
